The Funded Trader : Review Introduction
The Funded Trader was established by the same people behind VVS Academy and The Forex League, so even though the platform is still emerging as a player in the forex world, it’s backed up by a wealth of experience and knowledge, which is no doubt a big factor behind its rising popularity.
Traders all over the world can take advantage of funding programmes of up to $1.5 million and profit shares of up to 90%, with four standard account sizes to choose from and a two-phase evaluation process, which makes it ideal for newcomers to forex trading.

1. Prop Firm Programs
Getting started is a simple process and all you have to do is choose which challenge you’d like to begin with and the size of account you want to participate with… and away you go.
There is a one-off non-refundable fee to pay before you can start your chosen challenge, but once this has been paid, you’ll receive your trading platform and dashboard credentials in a matter of minutes.
Trading objectives must be achieved and trading expertise demonstrated before moving from phase one to phase two in the Standard challenge programme.
Once you have been verified and have passed phase two, your results will be confirmed and you’ll be promoted to Funded Trader. The minimum number of trading days for both phases is five days, with a maximum loss of 6% daily and a maximum loss of 12% overall.
The Rapid challenge profit objective for phase one is 8% with a 24-day trading period and, for phase two, it’s 5% over a 60-day trading period. There is no minimum trading day restriction in place with this challenge and profit shares range from 80% to 90%, with a maximum daily loss of 5% and a maximum loss of 8% overall.
2. Trading Rules & Environment
What makes The Funded Trader stand out from the majority of other industry-leading prop firms is that it doesn’t place too many restrictions on your trading style. You can trade overnight, on weekends and during news events, although you’re not permitted to copy trade, hedge across various accounts or enlist the services of an expert adviser.
In order to achieve a 90% profit share and bi-weekly rewards, traders must demonstrate a professional level of risk management and consistency… which is where the Scaling Plan comes into play.
Trader accounts are evaluated every three months and are eligible for a 25% boost in the original account amount after two/three months of profit with an average return of 6%.
The Scaling Plan allows you to grow your account based on consistency of performance and you can take the balance all the way up to $1.5 million. You are also eligible for 90% payouts once you’ve been approved for this plan.

3. Conclusion
Conclusion? The Funded Trader is a solid choice of prop firm, supported by the positive reviews it has accumulated over the last couple of years. They’re partnered with some big brokers (Purple Trading, Nash Markets and Eightcap), so there’s a lot of potential for traders to see big wins and the lenient rules are also another major feather in its cap.
However, not being able to use expert advisers may put some traders off and see them choose a different prop firm where this is permissible, as it often forms a key part of trading strategy.
